Switzerland: Where Assisted Suicide is Legal
Assisted suicide is legal in Switzerland and it has been that way since 1941. Foreigners come to this country because it is not allowed in most parts of the world.
Assisted Suicide is misconstrued as being the same as Euthanasia. The latter involves a doctor administering the lethal drug that takes away the life of the patient while the former assists suicide by helping the patient find the drugs, offer support but leaves before the patient actually kills himself.
The Swiss government is still bound to revise the federal laws so as to protect the intent of the act. This will only be used as a last resort for the terminally ill who have no other options and don't want to prolong their and their family's agony.
There has been a long standing debate whether to limit suicide tourism but recent poll in Switzerland proved 85% of the votes cast showed the citizens didn't want to ban other nationalities from going to there to die on their own accord.
Won't have any witty remarks here in this post. This shit is depressing.
